Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By registering and using Connect Umbergaon, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you disagree, please refrain from using the app.
2. Service Overview
Connect Umbergaon acts as a delivery intermediary between restaurants and users by:
- Collecting food parcels from restaurants.
- Delivering parcels to users at their specified addresses.
3. Registration and Account
- Registration requires an email, phone number, username, and password, or users may sign in using Google Sign-In (OAuth) or Apple Sign-In (for iOS users only).
- Email-based OTP verification is mandatory for email/password registration.
- Users must keep their credentials confidential, including credentials linked to their Google account.
4. Location Services
Users must enable location services to:
- Add delivery addresses.
- Display nearby restaurants and calculate delivery distances.
- Share location with restaurants, delivery personnel, and admin for order processing.
5. Food Prices Disclaimer
Please note that the prices of food products displayed in the app are not based on the restaurant’s official menu. All food prices are set and managed by Connect Umbergaon. Restaurants have no control over the pricing within the app, and there may be differences between in-app prices and in-restaurant menu prices.
6. Payments
We currently support Cash on Delivery (COD) only. Users must:
- Pay the full amount to the delivery personnel as displayed in the app.
7. Notifications
By using the app, users agree to receive FCM notifications for:
- Order updates.
- App promotions and announcements.
8. User Responsibilities
- Provide accurate delivery addresses and contact details.
- Be available at the specified location for order delivery.
- Avoid fraudulent or abusive behavior while using the app.
- Users signing in with Google accounts must ensure the linked email is active and accessible for receiving app notifications and account recovery.
9. Order Cancellations
Restaurants reserve the right to cancel orders if:
- The requested item(s) or quantity is unavailable.
- Users will be notified immediately in case of cancellations.
The online order once placed cannot be modified or cancelled either through the app or offline by calling the service center.
10. Limitation of Liability
Connect Umbergaon is not liable for:
- Delays or non-delivery due to incorrect addresses or user unavailability.
- Food quality, which is the sole responsibility of the restaurant.
- Losses caused by unforeseen events, such as natural disasters.
11. Termination of Service
We may suspend or terminate user accounts for:
- Violations of these Terms of Service.
- Fraudulent or abusive behavior.
12. Amendments to Terms
We may revise these Terms of Service at any time. Users will be notified of changes via app updates or email. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of updated terms.
